Workflow Versioning
Workflow versioning helps administrators test and control automation changes before they affect live cases.
Open a workflow from AI & Automate > Workflows, then use the controls in the workflow builder.
Available Controls
Draft: saves the current workflow as a draft version.Dry Test: traces the workflow path without creating tasks, notes, notifications, or case updates.Approval: records a request for review before the workflow is published.Publish: activates the workflow after admin review.Rollback: restores a prior saved version number.Test Run: runs the workflow live and should be used only when the workflow is ready to execute real actions.
Recommended Workflow
- Edit the workflow nodes and edges.
- Save the workflow.
- Create a draft.
- Run a dry test and review the traced steps.
- Request approval.
- Publish only after review.
- If the workflow misbehaves, rollback to a known-good version.
Notes
- Publish and rollback are admin-controlled actions.
- Dry tests are safe because they do not execute live workflow actions.
- Live test runs can create records or update cases depending on the workflow nodes.
